ogbcdGiggly, unserious host with no perspectiveI really wanted to like this podcast because the guests are insightful, industry-leading professionals I want to hear from. But the host truly makes this show so difficult to listen through and take seriously. I work in this industry and this sounds like sitting down for an internal meeting with a CEO and a Marketing intern who giggles through everything she says and lobs softball questions that don’t take advantage of the experience or seniority of the CEO, for the sake of participating. Why is every sentence laughed through and so bouncy when discussing serious business? Her replies are “yesss!”, “amazing!”, “I love this!”. Every single thing she says has an exclamation mark, even when it truly shouldn’t. I mean.. discussing the Trump administration and tariffs on fashion like it’s high school gossip and soooo silly… ?! There’s no meaningful dialogue. The parts worth hearing are from the guests but the host barely investigates and provides no interesting evolution of conversation or hard-hitting, expertise-driven questions. Go to BoF, Fashion People and other industry podcasts for valuable questioning and journalism.

Scooching in HereHosts are Awful“It’s like, obviously like,” so many “likes” as filler! Hosts are juvenile and immature. It’s a shame because the guests really sound interesting. Might have to finally unfollow. Update — finally unfollowing. Hosts still just as bad, but this time offensive for anyone who doesn’t live in NYC or LA (as someone who lives in LA). Plus, plenty of interpretations and reports have been completely inaccurate or lacking nuance.

Jennings118Great podcast, annoying hostI love the content of the podcast. My only issue is that the female host laughs almost nervously after mostly everything she says. It’s distracting and doesn’t feel professional.
-
Dc by coastalToo badThe voices are unbearable. It’s a shame because fashion needs news sources.

Proustian MadeleineIt’s “Comma-la” not “Ka-MA-la”@Zofia Zwieglinska: Please learn to correctly pronounce Kamala Harris’s name. I cringed as you mispronounced it repeatedly on the August 23, 2024 episode that you guest hosted.

podpodlistenerLove the Guests, Host needs some workThe guests are great, always very informed leaders and super engaging. The host seems to have some nerves, feels a bit amateurish.
-
FPurbanAdvisorsChicago shout outThanks for the Chicago love. Summer is awesome here. But please add a show on chicago designers or fashion scene. We may need some help. Out retail is suffering just a bit. Also talk about LVMH city takeovers. Good or bad.

DhkshdjekhdbdkLove this show!I love listening to this each week to stay in touch with what’s happening on the business side of the fashion world. Jill and Danny always offer great perspectives, interesting headlines, and pleasant banter. Listening feels like having a coffee date with your most fashion-forward friend. Thanks for a great show, Glossy!

msc llcMy go-to for four years ++I’ve been listening to Glosdy since my brand ideation in 2020, through our launch in 2022 and still today as we continue to grow… and I ALWAYS find value. Such a reliable, fresh perspective and love the easy-listening, conversational voices of Jill & Danny. - Meg

Charleston1907Frank EveretteLoved this episode! So much food for thought! As a part of a small family owned jewelry store in Charleston, Frank hit on all the reasons we love one of a kind pieces and how important it is to maintain a website full of information that empowers a shopper to feel confident buying online! Thank you!
-
BriaZhanéVery informativeAs a beauty & fashion-lover I appreciate the insight into what’s going on in the industry from an audio perspective. I can sketch my garment illustrations while staying informed! Great podcast ❤️

jfox0804Please bring on a new hostThe host is awful. She asks questions in a confusing manner and always sounds unprepared for the interview. I understand she’s the chief editor and founder of Glossy but if she’s a good leader she’ll recognize her own weaknesses here and hire someone else to do these interviews. Providing people who work in this industry with the information they want and need should be prioritized above her own desire for air time.
-
CeciliaEsquivelSo Informative!Love the soundbites of this podcast. Detailed enough but not long winded. Great for when I’m on my walks and I want to pass the time listening to something I enjoy! As a fashion girly, this helps think of the industry through a wider lens.
-
Dan1777999877Love this show! It’s obvious Jill puts extraordinary effort in covering salient topics and finding guests that are authentic and truly care about being a positive force in this world - the insights they bring to bear are still mind-blowing every. single. time.

former disordered eaterDecember 1st take on Balenciaga AWFULThe dismissive giggling, the “i really don’t think they read the legal document on the desk.” Are you naive or stupid or both?
-
charmingcharlestonPlease change your hostLove the guests and topic but the host is hard to listen to. She sounds like she has a fake smile on her face, even when asking serious questions. Her questions are confusing and she doesn’t really listen to or engage with the guests on a deeper level.
-
*kiki____Batsheva epHost sounds like a deranged, insane person, Batsheva is lovely and articulate dealing with this host maniacally laughing after everything she says. Hire a better speaker, just bc it’s fashion it doesn’t have to sound so stupid.

Marshee10012“ kinda like”Victoria’sSecrets episode… host is back from vacation Oy… how many times does he say” kinda like” and “ whatever they call this category” I mean really ?? You’re in the business and we are supposed to rely on you for this information. I do think he needs a Toastmasters course… needs to work on public speaking a bit Try counting his Ummms Likess So Kinda like. And maybe slow down!! Other than that …great podcast Thank you

captnzenSaucony 🙌 Huzzah!Listened 👂 to the Saucony episode w/Anne Cavasso. I had a buddy who owned a running shoe 🏃♂️ store. Got me to try Saucony & I was most impressed. As a longtime runner, I’m pretty picky as to what I’ll run in. Solid brand.
-
SustainableFashionGoalsGreat For Anyone Working In FashionJill asks great questions and isn’t afraid to dig in and ask tough ones as well. Love the focus on influencers since they are really changing the game of fashion pr/marketing. I can’t get enough of this podcast!

Laur McGThis is not a beauty business podcast. Period. Please stop supporting predators. Arielle charnas took COVID bailout money she didn’t need, meaning that actual companies that needed the money missed out - small businesses closed because of her greed. And yet you’re ignoring this and pretending she’s a good business woman - yikes. This is after Arielle received 10M in Venture capital investment money to relaunch her failed brand. Please stop glorifying a woman who is a TERRIBLE business person willing to lie and steal from folks who don’t have $2.5M personal wrath in the bank (which she notably refused to use to save her business, more interesting facts). Arielle’s brand already failed once and was dropped from Nordstrom, it can be found on clearance racks at TJ Maxx, now she’s trying to relaunch that failed brand with tax payer money while exposing people to COVID (and bragging about it on social media from the Hamptons). You claim to be a business podcast? Pass.
-
Buzzbuzzbuzz22Why give a platform to terrible people?AC has proven to be a terrible business person and a morally bankrupt human. Also her line is unoriginal and failed at Nordstrom’s. Unclear what the story is here?
-
DexterEV17Has PotentialI do enjoy this podcast, but as many others have said- the host needs to work on her interviewing skills. Too cheery when the situation does not always call for that response, asks questions in a confusing way, and doesn’t always steer the conversation to where it should be. At times, the designers can be very tone deaf (many mention escaping the city during Covid, etc) and that can be a turn off.
-
lpenoyerPoor hosting, solid guestsListened to ep hosted by Jill manhoff speaking with Brideside founder. Jill is young, speaks with a smile plastered on her face even when the conversation calls for empathy. Late in the podcast, the guest tells of her husbands death 9 months prior...she continues being vulnerable in her story and Jill essentially landed a basket toss like a cheerleader with a bouncing yeah!! Tell me how you cope!! Just short of ending her response with, hey babe, tell me mo-rah! She does not listen to responses , she does not dig in and create a conversation. She reads questions from a lust. She’s not ready for this gig. Let her work on production first to get her interview chops and bring more maturity to the table.

EB9818Great Podcast terrible hostI agree with many of the other reviews. I love the idea of this podcast- the guests they get and topics they cover but the host is really hard to listen to. She barely listens to the responses to her questions and overall is very awkward and not personable. I end up having to turn it off.
-
Val VMPRI’ve listened to Nicol Miller’s podcastI had to stop listening on the 10655 times Nicole said “ YOU KNOW...” so annoying!!!!!
-
melbes825Not real soundingFirst time listening was with aurate founder and it was so not personable and not interesting.
-
oseaaaNot to be missedBUT it was better with Hilary Milnes hosting. Tune into the Glossy Beauty Podcast instead.
-
Genevieve Andre deGreat guests but improvement opportunity for hostGlossy podcast has really great guests who give valuable insight but this week’s host could improve by more carefully listening to the interviewee’s answers. They had to clarify multiple points twice.
-
nycgirl2019Generic interviewI was really looking forward to the podcast of a start up brand that I admire. But the interview was very flat, and kind of superficial. The guest’s answer to a lot of questions were rather generic and vague and I was really hoping to get glimpses of the inspiration and operation of a branch that I admire so much. Unfortunately for various reasons, the guest just fell short. A thought - if you are not ready to share your story genuinely and openly, don’t bother with doing these types of interviews.
-
Bergy764Sharp and InsightfulNever a letdown. Great insider knowledge from behind the business lines!
-
Carmen BlakWhat a dragFor the most part, great guests. The host seems like she hates life. Very negative overtones.
-
Emma2692Impersonal HostI love many of the guests you have on this podcast, but I am afraid that some of the chats seem really superficial and condescending due to the host’s tone and lack of response to any of her guests’ enthusiasm for what they do. We listeners come here because we care about the content! It’s disappointing that the host doesn’t share this enthusiasm. Sounds like she is reading from a list rather than actually engaging in a meaningful conversation.
-
Nik A BandoRetail Nerds 🤟🏽Great for industry people, and founders. Enjoy the real stories and candid conversation
-
GogorettteGood quality podcast!I really like this show. Hilary asks unique, pointed questions that show that someone has done their research (rather than the same generic questions every time). It’s current, with a focus on the tech landscape, too. Hilary also has a really pleasant voice to listen to, and is both professional and approachable in her style. I also like how this show is approachable for those who hardly know anything about fashion or brands, but also has a good level of detail for those who know a bit more about the industry. Bravo!
-
monica1787Not a fan of the hostI’ve listened to 10 episodes or so and I really enjoy listening to the guests and the topics covered, however I’m not a big fan of the host. She doesn’t “hear” what the guests are saying and instead seems focused on getting through a list of questions. As a result, the insight and information is limited and very similar across episodes.
-
Susie BoggAn excellent look into what makes brands successfulPerfect for anyone interested in starting a brand and making it grow. Hillary thoughtfully asks the smartest and most useful questions. I learn so many new things in each episode.
-
HAMZZZI love the podcast/ and have a suggestionThis is great content, I'm a Senior Buyer for a men's and women's boutique with 3 locations. I worked my way up from sales to a buyer, and it's really hard to get this information from others in the industry. You guys should do a episode from a Boutique/Buyers point of view, I'd like to hear some insight on reaching out to brands from luxury to mid tier brands. Different strategies, cold emailing/calling.
-
InvaderZimm_Phenomenal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️As a young aspiring female entrepreneur in NYC, this podcast has made my train rides very interesting and insightful. I'm building a brand that intersects with fashion, luxury, and tech. This podcast definitely organize trends that I've noticed in a clear and succinct message with key players in the industry. I look forward to many more episodes. I highly recommend it to anyone who asks what my top podcast are. Keep up the great work! P.S. Hopefully the podcast can be a little longer.
-
Arielle717A great addition to Glossy.co!I've been reading Glossy for retail, technology and luxury news since it launched and this is a great addition to their brand. The short one-on-one interviews are valuable and easy to consume. The host is always professional and friendly, asking questions I want to know the answer to as somone who is focused on the changing retail landscape. Love it!
